Every first Monday, Portland’s music industry—artists and music businesses—come together to “constructively kvetch,” as MusicPortland’s executive director Meara McLaughlin jokingly puts it. The grassroots nonprofit is our scene’s advocate for music’s future in the Rose City and these First Monday gatherings are good for networking, getting updates on initiatives (like all-ages access, musician loading zones, seismic threats to venues), learning professional skills, giving your two cents, and sharing a pint with new and old friends. Come at 6pm for conversation, stay till they kick ya out!
