Dan Cable is one solid dude! We sat down the other week to talk tunes, educational opps, parties, and the sustainability of the local music scene—much of it in conjunction with the many, many things Vortex has in the mix for the coming weeks. With our new issue—#12—we celebrate three years and we hope you can join us at one or all of the upcoming events:
▶ Saturday, April, 22: Vortex's first foray into the world of wax is Our City, Our Sounds: A #PDXmusic Vinyl Compilation featuring 11 unreleased songs from local artists! Limited to just 60 copies and available exclusively at Music Millennium and Tender Loving Empire on Hawthorne on Record Store Day, find out what's on it here.
▶ Thursday, April 27: Come drink beer with us at Cravedog! Plus pick up a copy of the new mag and maybe the aforementioned vinyl comp.
▶ Sunday, April 30: Our friends over at Do503 are putting together a local record label pop-up shop at Holocene. Swing by there at noon then scurry on over to the Doug Fir...
▶ Sunday, April 30: Because we have a stacked lineup of industry pros for our Music Marketing Meetup on Music Licensing. All ages and free, get expert insight on how to license music from the musician, agency and legal perspectives.
▶ Friday, May 5: It's not just Cinco de Mayo, it's our birthday! Party on with Autonomics, Rasheed Jamal and Small Million at the Alberta Street Pub, plus find the new mag and maybe even some vinyl!
We cover all of the above and more on the progrum, but we seriously could've talked for so much longer.
If you wanna be kept in the loop about all of these events as well as future happenings, plus get the mag mailed to your door and monthly discounts from local businesses delivered to your inbox...
