More tangible than the annual all-ages, all-genre festival held each July, one of PDX Pop Now!'s most enduring traditions is its yearly snapshot of Portland music as it's occurring. This happens via the double-disc compilation CD, and PPN! is still seeking submissions for its 2014 comp.
The volunteer-run nonprofit will accept all songs, styles, sounds—really anything—as long as you made it and you're from Portland! Then, a listening committee of 100-some people will anonymously listen to and vote on each tune, selecting the most popular ones for the 2014 compilation.
Need our sales pitch? If chosen, your song will undoubtedly be featured alongside a wealth of PDX talent while receiving great exposure, plus all proceeds from the sales of the comp go to fund the free, three-day live music festival.
