It’s not so often that you see the city’s longest-running DJ duo (the renowned global sound purveyors DJ Anjali & The Incredible Kid), a local reggae artist with ties to the storied Tuff Gong (Aaron Nigel Smith), a monthly beatmakers’ party (A Beat Happening), an innovative dance troupe (BodyVox), a ’90s Northwest power pop legend (The Presidents’ Chris Ballew as Caspar Babypants), a Ghanaian afro-pop singer-songwriter (Okaidja Afroso), a Grammy-nominated hip-hop crew (Alphabet Rockers), and several staples of Portland’s kindie scene (Red Yarn, Mr. Ben, Mo Phillips) on the same bill. Well, it’s all happening at this first annual kids’ fest from our city’s hub for playful, hands-on learning. Get ready for an instrument petting zoo, an interactive light and sound room, a studio for making DIY instruments and merch like buttons, patches and posters, face painting, food trucks, and tons more fun!
