Every Havania Whaal show is a spectacle. Whether it includes papier-mâché heads, confetti cannons or, in the case of their highlight performance at this summer’s Mimi Fest, a piñata full of plastic baby dolls, audience participation tends to occur more often than not, making their sonic work all the more memorable. This show will celebrate the release of their new casingle “Horizon” (listen below) from the upcoming EP ‘Babcia,’ out on Seattle's Youth Riot Records on September 20. The track finds buzzing and reverb-soaked guitar lines giving way to quiet-yet-urgent vocals speaking about identity and belonging, resulting in a danceable, dream pop effort. Seattle’s Velvet Q plus Portland’s Pool Boys and Cay Is Okay open the show.
