Samuel Eisen-Meyers is a truly talented creative who skillfully shares his message through a myriad of mediums. While oil painting has been the focus of his creative output over the last few years, a joyful noise has been building within Eisen-Meyers behind the scenes. The time has finally come for his powerful message to be heard, felt and danced to with his EP release, The Heart of the Soul Pt. 1.
Warning: This album will not sit quietly on your shelf. It stands for change and it is not afraid to motivate. These songs are written for the “people of the world who have the heart, stand up care for where we are,” as Eisen-Meyers sings in “Race Against Time.” This song, as well as the others on the record, are motivated by his reflection on how important it is for us all to grow towards a positive idea of being “for” something, rather than “against” during this time of societal oppression.
This, of course, is not a mission one man can take on alone. Eisen-Meyers has collaborated with an orchestra of Portland musicians to give these words power and inspiration, both on the album and in concert.
