Home at the Wonder
After 30-plus shows and nearly two months on the road, Sallie Ford and her bandmates—Cristina Cano (keys), Anita Lee Elliott (bass) and Amanda Spring (drums)—made their return to Portland’s Wonder Ballroom on Saturday night bringing a fun set featuring new songs from Slap Back, the swagger of “Fuck That" and I Swear,” and a masterful cover of the Ramones' “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend.”
Opening for Sallie Ford, Portland trio Old Light's acid folk, metal and everything else sound was nothing short of amazing with the highlight of their set coming during the full-on grunge metal of “Gray” (watch it below) complete with cape and Warlock guitar, which brought the house down—and it was a guitar that both Ford and Elliott played during their set (see above).
