Rhiannon Giddens and her band got up early on Tuesday morning before their sold-out Aladdin Theater show to the delight of the Skype Live Studio audience. Opening her four-song set with the classic “Black is the Color” was absolutely brilliant. Giddens has an exceptional voice and a seemingly effortless ability to sing multiple styles with absolute authenticity, which makes her truly an amazing performer to see live. Her performance on Tuesday morning was a marvel and was highlighted by her powerful rendition of Pasty Cline's “She’s Got You”—watch the video below and you’ll know what a special voice Giddens possesses.
