Back for its fourth year, organizers DJ Klyph and O.G. One have really outdone themselves with the incredibly stacked showing of local talent representing the theme Legends: The Future of Now & Then. Performers and turntablists with decades of experiences—like Cool Nutz, Lifesavas, Rev Shines, DJ Fatboy—will join today’s rising class—Mic Capes, Rasheed Jamal, Wynne, Fountaine, Bocha, Karma Rivera—to bring the city’s hottest, free, all-ages throwdown of hip-hop music and culture. With more than 30 performers announced so far, expect high energy from the young ones as they pay homage to our scene’s veterans. But most important of all, this date is the actual birthday of the recently passed event founder and all-around supporter StarChile—R.I.P.
