More than 65 local artists will play more than 20 shows in 12 metro area venues in what’ll prove to be one of the greatest consolidations (and showcases) of Portland’s robust music scene over two days. Each bill reps a different variety of artists—from dance, pop and rock to folk, Americana and alt-country—with music curated by respected tastemakers, like The Thesis bringing hip-hop (Mic Capes, Donte Thomas) and sultry R&B (Blossom), jazz, funk and soul (Coco Columbia, Korgy & Bass, Tyrone Hendrix) organized by trumpeter Farnell Newton, and Portland Notes hosting a bevy of female talent. Whether it’s Scott Pemberton, Haley Johnsen, Tyler Stenson or The Pynnacles, MOGO epitomizes the unique ability of the Portland scene to come together, support one another and collaborate.
