Doug Appling’s latest gorgeously hypnotic record of soundscaped instrumentals, 'Baralku,' is layered with strings, samples and electronic pulses, with touch points in jazz, hip-hop, downtempo and world music. Expanding his compositions for the stage, Emancipator’s five-piece live ensemble bring drums, keys, strings, guitars and more to ebb and flow with a mesmerizing light show.
