Owner's Statement
Marylhurst University is a premier, not-for-profit, applied liberal arts and business university serving today’s diverse learners. We deliver an innovative, exceptional academic and social experience in a personalized, accessible and caring environment (online and on campus). Our beautiful campus is just 10 minutes south of Portland on Highway 43.
Art, music and culture are the lifeblood of an applied liberal arts education. Through the arts, we’re exposed to new ideas and perspectives—an essential ingredient in developing critical thinkers. We have a long and rich history of embracing the arts at Marylhurst University. Music programming features our internationally award-winning Marylhurst Chamber Choir, the Marylhurst Guitar Ensemble, and the Marylhurst Jazz Ensemble. Every year we welcome world-renowned artists to our campus, such as the Pulitzer Prize-winning vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth and composers Morten Lauridsen and Gwyneth Walker. The Marylhurst Chamber Choir performed at Carnegie Hall in 2015 and the following year, won third prize in the Cork International Choral Festival in Ireland.
