Steve Murray is a rock and roll lifer who began his journey as a sixth grader with a cheap guitar, a particle board amp and two cassette decks—making demos for his first band at age 11. Steve’s ongoing obsession with music and sound has not waned, and his deep enthusiasm and infectious humor always make for a memorable experience in any audio-related scenario. In addition to playing in bands, producing records, spearheading unique shows, and writing about music, Steve co-hosted and engineered the No. 1 rated River City Juke Joint live radio program for nearly six years. These experiences built a set of skills for working well with all sorts of music makers. He perpetually preoccupies himself with the overarching question: "What do we need to do in order to make this great?" He looks forward to continuing to serve Vortex, its readers and its clients at the highest level possible.
