Portland’s own Tara Velarde flies her diva folk flag in a series of fundraising concerts for her next album, Smoke and Rain. Her soaring, spine-tingling vocals and timeless, perceptive lyrics have become signatures of her live performance and recent 2019 album, Rise. With her sophomore album, Velarde returns to The Rye Room recording studio to work with owner and producer Matt Greco and a cast of A-list Portland musicians. She'll kick off her fundraising concert series on Friday, May 15 and Friday, May 29 (7-8pm, $10 suggested donation) live streamed on Instagram @tara_velarde_music and Facebook.
