In LOAD B, we see two generations of master lyricists and emcees contrast and connect. Chicago native Mic Crenshaw moved to Portland after being a lead figure in street wars between neo-Nazi skinheads and anti-racist youth in the ’80s and ’90s. Micah Fletcher, aka Kool Chief Rocker, survived a deadly hate crime in 2017 when he was stabbed in the neck by Jeremy Christian, turning to his poetic skills in the wake of the attacks. Together, the duo provide hard-hitting social commentary over beats produced by Theory Hazit, Trox and Prince Elwood Strickland III. For fans of Run The Jewels, Rage Against The Machine, Aesop Rock, Dead Prez and Immortal Technique, Brink Of Distinction is out now.
