Portland native jeraymakeswaves has been around music since he was 4 years old, but he didn’t always feel comfortable sharing his voice around strangers. After some encouragement from his brother—local legend and producer J. Hixson—that all changed. His recently released inaugural music video for “40TTF (To The Face),” a hard-hitting, coming-of-age song, is written from the perspective of a black male about the harsh world we see, and the pain we overlook.
