J. Michael Kearsey

Composer J. Michael Kearsey has been a vital member of Oregon’s music scene for 40 years. His third solo album Between the Seasons finds him sampling diverse musical styles like new age, Brazilian, Middle Eastern, jazz, country and folk on 13 instrumental tracks that feature acoustic guitar, piano, fiddle, mandolin, trumpet, flute, sax, pedal steel, kanoon and oud. A reflection of his inspirational environs, the record pays tribute to Oregon’s rivers on “Spirit of the Metolius” as well as his years with Latin group UPEPO on the samba “Mariposa.” For fans of Mark Isham, Wendy Carlos, Paul Winter, Suzanne Ciani and Michael Shrieve, find Between the Seasons on CD Baby and at Music Millennium.
