Chromeo continue to build anticipation for their fourth album, White Women, by giving us yet another tantalizing cut—"Jealous (I Ain't With It)"—in advance of the album’s drop on May 12 via Fool's Gold. The Canadian duo of David Macklovitch (aka Dave 1 on guitar) and Patrick Gemayel (aka P-Thugg on synths and talk box) have steadily built a loyal following while putting in a lot of hard studio work to make this their most polished work to date.
"Jealous (I Ain't With It)" is yet another example—along with other album teases "Over Your Shoulder," "Sexy Socialite" and "Come Alive” featuring Toro Y Moi—of a band at the top of its game. Chromeo's continued progression shines on these initial tracks from White Women as Macklovitch and Gemayel appear to have matured into electro-funk masters. They have become more accessible—and catchier than ever—by balancing the raging levels of funk from their first three albums with heavier doses of disco and pop. The result is a refined, more focused version of the original, raw Chromeo sound. We can't wait to get down to the rest of their new album, which you’re more than likely to hear a bit of at the Roseland Theater on Monday, April 14.
Plus if you pre-order White Women, you’ll get an instant download all four singles mentioned above!
